Manchester priest turned himself in to Manchester police detectives Thursday culminating an investigation into allegations of sexual assault, simple assault and false imprisonment, police said.
Rev. John O. Lawani, 40, of Lowell Street in Manchester, New Hampshire and a chaplain
at the African Apostolate was wanted on two counts of sexual assault, five counts of simple assault and two counts of false imprisonment.
Police said the alleged incidents took place over a period of time beginning in October of
2005. At this time the victim in this matter is being identified as a 27-year-old Manchester woman. |
