.On Thursday 23rd February 2006 I lost my cousin Francis, he passed away at the tender age of 22. I have never experienced losing someone so close to me, but I have seen many people around me lose their brother, father, sister, mother and close friends, and I remember now, more then ever the pain they went through.
Now as I look back on the times that we shared I realise that you did touch many people and that you were that link that made everyone’s relationship strong. And although I mentioned on various occasions that as humans we are all imperfect creatures, every time that I think about you I see that you were truly perfect. I remember when you use to say to me:
When a loved one dies and we cry for them, we are just being selfish because we want them back with us, but in reality we should rejoice because they are in a better place’
That is why I know that I don’t have to worry about you because you are truly in a better place, when I look at the picture I have of you on the wall, I instantly see the beautiful things about you, the way you lived every day to the fullest; your wisdom and the unique way that you could make anyone open up to you. You died truly doing what you loved and everyone who had the privilege of either meeting you or knowing you were blessed with your presence.

I LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL BE MISSED
Now have you ever sat down and taken the time to reflect on your life? Whether it is to understand the significance of your life, or even the importance that you as a person have in the world that we live. What we tend to forget is that when we are born we are blessed with the gift of life, and with that said we must all learn, how best to use it.
You know that saying? ‘Life is short’

Well that couldn’t be any further from the truth because a day is long, a week is even longer and a lifetime, well lets just say that in a lifetime you have the opportunity to make many choices and mistakes.
Quite simply this journey that we embark on is so long you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t make the occasional mistake.
However once we leave our mother’s wombs, we begin this journey, and it is down to us to decide what path we take.
However once you find your path you begin to realise that you, like every person on this earth has a purpose in life, a purpose that eventually completes your mind, body and soul.
I believe that life is a test, what kind of test? I hear you say; well that answer depends on what you feel your calling is and until you feel that you have found that calling, your spirit and your body will fill empty.
Now the reason why I’m talking about life in such detail is because I believe that as people we don’t truly appreciate life. That is why we take so many things for granted, friends, family, each other and especially time.
That is why we find ourselves worshiping, drugs, sex, alcohol, money and many other materialistic elements that society throws at us.
Our eyes have been covered for too long and we now find ourselves so consumed with the world that we live in that we no longer appreciate the important things around us and eventually we then fail to see the beauty of life. Life in some ways is like water, in the sense that if we don’t truly understand its value, we then ideally don’t understand how best to use it.
To live fully is to let go and die with each passing moment, and to be
reborn in each new one.
