Angolan oil firm reaches 100,000 barrels per day in production

Angola's national oil company, Sonangol, has reached a daily production of 100,000 barrels, against its 7,000 daily output of 1976, when it first started oil production. The information was released to the press by Sonangol press officer, João Rosa Santos, who added that this progress represents a leap forward and reflects the evolution of the company over the years.

He also said that the 100,000 barrels per day mark, represented a targeted objective which was the result of a hard and devoted struggle by Angolan technicians over the last 30 years. And in order for them to reach the figure mentioned above, the officer said, the company invested in the provision of speciality training for its personnel.

Within the framework of the information technologies, Sonangol , through its subsidiary, Mstelcom, is investing in products of the most modern generation, such as satellite voice, fax and data telecommunication systems.

In addition to Mstelcom, the group also comprises subsidiaries in the fields of research and production, logistics, distribution and natural gas. It also includes the firms SGPS, Sonaship, SonAir, Essa, Sonangol Limited, Sonangol USA, Sonangol Asia, Sonangol Cape Verde, and Sonangol São Tomé and Príncipe
