Nigeria's
Best set to Captivate the Brits
 |
They are already a well-established name back home in Nigeria but De Indispensables will be known all over the world before long too. For the duo, who blend Reggae and Hip Hop with cool African vibes, are about to invade the Brits airwaves with the infectious Afro-Reggae tune Sweet Mama.
De Indispensables are already gathering moment- um in Nigeria. |
Already they have performed and recorded with MOBO-winning rapper and Choice FM DJ Phoebe One. Nigeria’s Radio Palmwine has named them as one of the most exciting new acts to emerge in 2005, an accolade made even greater when they were voted into the station’s top ten by its listeners. They have also appeared on MNet TV’s South Al Channel and Channel O alongside other top Nigeria urban acts and Djs, as well as U.K’S urban musical TV Channel called Channel U on Sky digital 467 with selection number 576 also on heavy rotation on MTV BASE Pan African Channel and have been featured in five of Nigeria’s national newspapers.
Now, in a first taste of UK and European interest, De Indispensables were the subject of a documentary on the international black culture channel BEN TV (on Sky Digital, Telewest etc.) in November 2005.

The single Sweet Mama, which also features J.Boy, shows De Indispensables indulging the Afro Reggae end of their spectrum. Its lilting buoyant melody and cool vocal harmonies will delight fans well beyond Reggae and Urban circles. To follow will be their debut UK album release, currently scheduled for April 2006, which will demonstrate the diversity and sheer maturity in their writing and performance. |

Daddy, Naija Jams
“De Indispensables are currently hot. Cinderella is the hottest track of the year for me. U can’t beat that song”.
