TRUSTWORTHY
DO NOT BE DECIEVED..

We bring you a special interview granted African Echo by Reverend Emmanuel Uwazie, founder and President of the New Anointing Ministries Worldwide. Reverend Emmanuel who is based in the Netherlands is conducting a “Breakthrough Prayer Crusade” in London. He visited the offices of the African Echo and spoke to our correspondent Isaac Amo-Kyereme.

Isaac Amo-Kyereme: Welcome Pastor Emmanuel. Can you tell us a little bit about your self?
Reverend Emmanuel Uwazie:Like many prophets in the Bible such as Moses, I come from a background of Idol worshipping. My mother was a Christian, but my father was the chief priest of a god. At the age of 7 my mother brought me to the altar of God the most high.Unknown to me She had made a covenant with God like Hannah in the Bible to make me a servant of His. My mother gave birth to nine children, 5 boys and 4 girls. I did not know her covenant was to give one of her children as a reverend father. So I became a mass servant in the catholic church. I also became a rock resolute leader in the church in my village. But my call to work for the Lord really began when I was in high school.

I was the senior school prefect so had the opportunity of leading devotions and other services. I was very influential as a student leader.

Over the weekends when I used to wash my uniform to my surprise I always found pieces of scripture in my pockets. It used to happen regularly but I always threw it away. But what really drew my attention to God was the bible verse I found in my pocket very close to my final bible knowledge examination. I thought someone had given me a tip to study for my examinations. I read the verse and realised it was not part of my course syllabus. I threw it away. When it happened again, I was upset and decided to find out who was doing this to me. So I mentioned it to my friends and they all asked that I watch out as this was strange. So I was walking in the street one day when a very lady approached me and asked if I had been receiving the messages the Lord had been sending to me. I asked which Lord and she responded the Lord Jesus Christ. I asked how could Jesus Christ be sending messages into my pocket and she said Jesus Christ had been sending me the messages through her. She sends me the messages to a little girl who normally gives it to me when I am in a hurry. I myself then puts it in my pocket. She then took me to see the little girl and I asked what do you really want from me and she said the Lord loves you. And that the Lord wants me to serve him. Then I said yes I am serving him, I am a mass servant. Then she said that is not faith. The Lord needs my heart. So I must be born again. Oh you want me to come to your church, which church do you go? She told me I only go to Nigeria’s scripture union it is not a church and I was welcome to attend meetings. When I got home strangely a friend came to ask if I would want to go for a scripture union meeting. I did not go. After he left another person came to with the same invitation. Strangely enough none of these people knew the other had had contact with me.

I was persuaded to go and that was the beginning of my being reborn again for the Lord. I invited Jesus Christ into my life. That was 1976. In 1979 the call to work for the Lord came but I did not heed the call. I was a very reserved person. I was set in my ways and becoming a Pastor was not one of the things I ever considered doing.

I could feel like having a conversation with a person and things were revealed to me.

And when these things that were revealed to me began coming true I began to move from church to church. Trying to find a response to the call. I did not answer God’s call. He allowed me to go and told me I will come back looking for him desperately.

IA: Many pastors talk about being called by God and they did not respond. How does it feel like to be called by God.
Rev. EO: The call from God comes in various ways. When Samuel was called he did not know the voice of God and it took three calls for the prophet Eli to direct him. In my case I came from a background of being the son of a dedicated, committed priest of an Idol. And it was his wish for his son to succeed him. And I was his favourite. I was his last son and he wanted me to continue in his stead. As the son of a high priest I also enjoyed the power and aura of being my father’s son. At that age I had no problem with it. He could raise dead people up and I enjoyed his power. I told my father I will do what ever he wanted me to do. Knowingly or unknowingly I was initiated into deep idol worship. It was after my father had died that I told myself I cannot be part of this and actually burned his gods and tried to vomit all the meat of the sacrifices of chicken and goats I had eaten. My burning my father’s shrine was a taboo.

IA: Was this prior to your call from the Lord.
Rev. EO:Yes at this time there was nothing being called. This was the time I was going to the scripture union. I was just a normal believer but I realised what my father had been involved in was not the right way and so told myself I will not be part of it again. In the scripture union and everywhere I went people referred to my fathers deed but they never knew he was my father. I decided to turn things round. I decided to run away from evil. The entire family said the curse of burning the shrine meant I will die soon. Nothing happened to me. Like Daniel and his friends I decided to stand for the Lord.

When I felt the touch of God on me I had a dream in which an angle of the Lord took me to a perfect place. The angle took me into a large room and told me to fill this hall with people. It was a peaceful hall with marvellous colours. I asked how can I fill this hall? When I looked around I saw four entrances with people in white robes standing at the entrance. When I looked around again I saw another place with a crowd of people crying and begging for mercy. When they saw me they started shouting welcome here, he is coming to help us. Come to help us. Then I looked around again and saw another big hall full of people and smoke, there was like torture going on there. When I asked the angle about who these were he said these are the people who your father deceived. I became said and felt I had to work for God to save more people than my father had deceived.

IA: Now let us concentrate on your work now. What is diferencies are there between the New Anointing Ministries worldwide and other churches.
Rev. EO:We try to serve God according to the bible way. My calling had nothing to do with basing our services according to the wrongs with other churches. Today many people are merchandising God’s Kingdom for self gain. Many people seemingly are called for many reasons. But the Lord also calls his own. I became a full time minister of God in 1986. I worked ten years in Nigeria before the Lord gave me an assignment in the Netherlands. This year I will celebrate my 10 years of working in the Netherland.

I have not made wealth like some pastors do because this is not a money making enterprise. If I wanted money I would have stayed in my previous job as an accountant. It is a place to serve God with all your heart and depend on divine provision. You are accountable to God and to the people. The Kingdom of Jesus Christ today has been turned into a corporation. But God is still God. Our mission as Pastors is to use the power of Christ to save, heal and restore. In Nigeria some people in the church are struggling to survive in life. Yet their Pastor has a private jet parked at the airport. He has many cars. Sleeps in top hotels all over. That is ungodly. You don’t do that. I also find problems with people in the church too. How come they don’t see and stop what goes on the church. Why don’t they ask the pastors about how their money is being used for? If you keep on pumping in money into such a church you are encouraging your pastor to mislead you all.

IA: In the past when you saw a pastor you always though about good things. They were men who could counsel, help you when in need. You could depend on them. It is not so now. Don’t you thing it the new movement of everyone coming up to say I am anointed, I am a prophet puts some fear in the congregation and that is why they can not challenge them.
Rev. EO: A Christian must be know his bible. When people in my church saw miracles taking place they began giving praise to me. I had to stop them and rather direct their praise to God. I am just an instrument. I know God has given me a special ministry. It is a gift of God to every child of God. It is a manifestation of Pentecost. Every one can be given this power. You just need time to listen to God and search for him. If you have this gift it is not anything you should be proud of because whatever you are able to do you are doing it for Christ. The anointing is from God. It is a divine gift from God. A pastor should be accountable to God. God does not call me because of who I am, He calls me to make use of me according to his direction. Our call is to make discipleship of the world for Christ. We need today men of God who will lead people to know the timing of God. We are in the timing of God. We are heading towards the harvest and I have problems when church members look onto man. A man who can die any minute of the time. Can get sick, change and disappoint. People must know men of God are only messengers of God. If the man of God is not operating according to the guidelines of God, the members should call him to order. We are public servants and we have to run a transparent ministry for members to know what is happening. Everything should not be about God told me. Any revelation or prophecy that is not in line with what you can find in the bible is a false prophecy, a false doctrine.

IA: In other words if a Pastor is not leading a Godly life than the pastor is leading others into a false kingdom.
Rev. EO: Precisely. Christianity is a way of life based on the bible and that should be your standard. To live like Jesus Christ did. Help the poor. Heal the sick, lead should to Christ.

IA: What brings you to London?
Rev. EO: The Lord has opened a new door for us to do his work in London and I want to invite everyone to come into God’s Kingdom. We are bringing the message of God to London. God is talking to many of his children here to come back to him to lead worthy lives. That is basically our mission here. To make disciples for the Lord.

God is going to bring people from all walks of live to become part of his kingdom.

We are called to focus on winning souls for God and that is what brings us to London.

People go to church with wounds and sorrows and no body is there for them. Many people in London are suffering, looking for salvation and do not know where to Go. Come to the Saviour’s side. He has been waiting for you for a long time.

IA: Where is your church in London?
Rev. EO: It is at the Limestone Community Hall, Limestone road, Thamesmead, London DA18 SE2.

IA: What is your final message to our readers?
Rev. EO: I just want to encourage all our readers to search for God with all their heart and also do his will. Christianity is about having the right relationship with our nieghbours. It is about saving souls for Christ. It is about helping others to know God. It is about the Salvation story. Welcome to the New Anointing Ministries Worldwide. God bless you.

We should have our eyes openned. We should study the word of God to be able to know his will.

IA: Thanks for coming Sir.
