WITNESS APPEALS
WE are still appealing for witnesses and information after a murder in Plaistow.
Police were called just after 21.30 on 17.3.07 to the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Rd, E13 re: a youth injured.
Adam Regis [15 ys], from Plaistow E13, was taken to Newham General Hospital where he died shortly before 23:00.
A post mortem gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest and abdomen.
That evening Adam had travelled on a bus with friends back from the Showcase cinema in Beckton. We believe he got off the bus with two friends (a male and female) at approx 21:00 on Romford Road in the area of Warwick Road E15 - this is approx one-and-a-half miles from where he was found collapsed.
The female left to walk to her own home.
We believe Adam then walked with the male friend to the friend's address before continuing towards his own home.
At some point during this journey he was stabbed - we believe close to where he was found. We are keeping an open mind as to motive at this time.
An incident room has opened at Barking under DCI Matthew Horne [HSCC]
Two black males wearing grey hoodies were seen running up Kingsland Rd (awayfrom Boundary Rd in the direction of New City Rd) and we urgently ask them to come forward, or for anyone else with information about them to contact us as soon as possible.
We are appealing for anyone who saw Adam prior to his death - he is very tall and quite distinctive - to come forward.
Adam is black, with a shaven head, and wore a light blue ¾ length jeans, a navy hooded top and white trainers. He was also wearing a Rosary Cross, which he wore outside of his clothes, and studded earrings - one in each ear.
We are also making enquiries to establish whether anything happened earlier in the evening between Adam and potential suspects that may have led to him being attacked.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8345 3775; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

22 arrested in passport fraud raids
TWENTY-TWO people were arrested during a Metropolitan Police crackdown on illegal passport factories and suppliers.
More than 100 officers carried out a series of raids at 13 addresses across London, codenamed Operation Greenhill.
During the raids, a total of £40,000 in cash was seized as well as a variety of false passports, driving licences and foreign identity documents.
Nineteen people were arrested and taken into police custody suspected of a range of crimes including unlawful facilitation, identity card offences and possession and conspiracy to produce and distribute false documents. Three people were dealt with for immigration offences.
Yesterday's dawn raids took place across London in Walthamstow, Rotherhithe, Ilford, Upper Holloway, South Lambeth, Hackney, Brixton, Kilburn, Stoke Newington, Tottenham, Bermondsey and Greenford.
The Met's Operation Maxim team led the investigation with assistance from officers from the UK Immigration Service, the Identity and Passport Service, South Yorkshire Police and the Department of Work and Pensions.
A spokesman for the Met described it as one of its most significant co-ordinated crackdowns on illegal passport factories and suppliers.
Detective Chief Inspector John Kielty from Operation Maxim, said: "The Metropolitan Police take these criminal networks very seriously. The production of false passports enables others to commit a range of serious crime. This operation tackles the criminals who try to hide their true identities from enforcement authorities.
"The operation proves how by working closely with our partners, we are able to disrupt these various networks and make London safer."
Operation Maxim deals with organised crime against UK's immigration system and tackles organised criminal networks such as illegal passport factories and people smuggling.
Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said: "We said we would work closer with the police to tackle serious immigration crime and make our borders safer and we meant it.
"The operation shows our shared determination to attack the organised crime that accounts for as much as three-quarters of illegal immigration to Britain."
They can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
