SAA joins IATA to provide top class aviation training

THE South African Airways (SAA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have signed an official agreement to provide wordclass aviation training within Southern Africa. The association will offer direct and easy access to aviation training as part of SAA's commitment to improving safety within the region and the wider continent.

The training will be offered to SAA employees, as well as other airlines, travel, transport and cargo organisations, based in Southern Africa. SAA acting General Manager Human Resources, Martin Kemp, said they are proud to be taking the reigns as the leader in aviation training on the continent.

"It is a great step forward for SAA and other industry members in Southern Africa to have the support of an organization which has credibility around the world," Kemp said.

IATA is a respected international aviation body providing quality standards and guidelines to the industry.

The training will equip candidates with relevant knowledge of processes and procedures within specific areas of the industry.

Courses will include, Cargo Skills and Procedures; Network and Fleet Planning; and Airline Emergency Planning and Response. SAA is now a proud member of the Star Alliance T which consists of 18 of the world's leading airlines, with 841 airport destinations across 157 countries.
