Algeria risks serious financial sector skills shortage
The Algerian finance minister has said that the country now needs to train 20,000 people to fill places in the financial sector over the next three years.
Mourad Medelci said that more executives and employees were needed to fill banking, taxes and customs shortages that would emerge between 2006 and 2009.
The training needs in the finance sector have been estimated at 20000. The minister also said that more planning is needed to go into ensuring that the training of executives and managers, in the finance sector in particular, did not continue to lag behind what was required.
