Angolan oil industry to invest $50 billion

A TOTAL of $50 billion will be invested in the Angolan Oil Industry in the 2007 to 2013 period, to reach a daily production of two million barrels.

This was recently said in Luanda by the chairman of the Angolan Oil Company (Sonangol), Manuel Vicente.

He added that the amount to be invested could also be used in the gradual increment of production. According to Manuel Vicente, the investments will open new business opportunities in the establishment of oil infrastructures, manufacture of equipment and maintenance operations.

He mentioned environmental protection, destructive tests, civil construction of infrastructure and painting of oil installations as some of the areas in which investments will be made.
