Uganda's Crane Bank launches visa cards

UGANDA'S CRANE Bank in partnership with Visa International has introduced Visa Electron debit cards, bringing the number of banks with the product in Uganda to three after Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

Customers with the visa card can now spend money without carrying cash.

Launching the debit card at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, AR Kalan, the bank's managing director, said it can be used at any of their Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), merchant establishments and ATMs of other banks in the country and internationally, which have the visa logo.

Visa's debit products can be used to pay for purchases and the money is deducted directly from the customer's bank account.
