NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE INDEX

THE PERFORMANCE indicators of the Nigerian stock Exchange, the Allshare index and market capitalisation both dropped by 0.32%. Specifically, the index which opened at 47,262.30 points dropped to 47,108.77 points while the capitalisation closed at N6.76 trillion from N6.78 trillion at which it opened.

Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc recorded the highest share price appreciation rising by N5 to close at N175 per share from N170, followed by Nigeria Aviation Handling Company Plc gaining N2.94 to close at N63.49, and Okomu Oil Palm Plc appreciated by N2.40 to close at N53.40 per share.

Other share price gainers included Benue Cement Company Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, RT. Briscoe Plc, West African Portland Cement Company Plc, Cement Company of Northern Nigerian Plc, National Salt Company Plc, and Unilever Nigeria Plc among others.
