A CONFERENCE aimed at equipping participants to overcome discrimination and inequalities faced by disadvantaged groups in the UK and European labour market has taken place in Cardiff.
Refugee Employment Inclusion Conference reflected on the issue of inclusion of refugees into employment The EQUAL programme focused on refugees living in Wales by developing a skills audit, research, training & volunteering opportunities. an organisation called RVW As employment is a crucial factor in the process of integration of refugees the need to train and empower them understand the Welsh environment situation was accepted as a key activity to concerntrate on.
Refugee Voice Wales there is very happy to be part of this activity as one of it’s key activities is to create the opportunity to network or dialogue with different stakeholders to explore the way refugees can be included in their agenda.
The coordinator for Refugee Voice Wales Mr. Pierrot Ngadi in a chat with African Echo thanked the Welsh Refugee Council, Equal Team & University of Wales Institutes in Cardiff UWIC, who have been loyal to the cause of refugees by offering them training that prepares them for the labour market.
“This is why RVW has worked very hard to encourage its members to take part in this project, that will help our members to gain experience & new skills that help them into employment. My dream is to support all refugees who are living in Wales on different issues including finding appropriate jobs, And that they will look back and remember” he added.
RVW continues to help and support refugees and asylum seekers who have a right to work, with jobs search, referrals, interview techniques, CV writing, completing jobs application and job placement form through our Drop in Centre “Progress to Work”which is a partnership between RVW, WRC Equal Team, DPIA, Race Equality First & Sova
