World Bank Group host African Business Forum 2007

THE WORLD Bank Group and the IMF Africa Investment Club (AIC), in conjunction with the Africa Trade and Investment Council (AfTIC) recently held the Africa Business Forum 2007 to facilitate discussion on Africa's most dynamic business sectors, and promote business matchmaking between African business people and their foreign counterparts.

The forum was held on June 5 to 7, at the IMF Headquarters on Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. The Africa Business Forum will provide an opportunity for foreign investors to learn about operating in Africa by creating a forum where partnerships can be forged.

The Forum Agenda was divided into the several topic areas including trade, investment, information technology, finance, energy, travel & tourism, doing business with the World Bank and doing business with MIGA.

In addition to the core sessions, the Forum included a business information expo that provides participants with the opportunity to speak with representatives of organisations that offer specific services to international businesses, business matchmaking sessions based on areas of interest and a special kiosk to coordinate one-on-one meetings between participants.
