Ericsson to invest Sh1 billion in Kenyan industry
THE global telecom giant, Ericsson, plans to invest more than Sh1 billion over the next five years to boost its local operations. The firm also intends to recruit local staff for its engineering, marketing, sales, and supplies functions.
Ericsson announced the developments when it opened its regional office in Nairobi, as a commitment to the local telecommunications industry and expansion programme.
President and General Manager for the marketing unit sub-Saharan Africa, Jan Embro, said that the Nairobi office would strengthen the company's sales, marketing and services capacity. Ericsson has been doing business in Kenya since the early 1970s.
