Botswana property company invests in Tanzania

A property development worth P500 million ($80 million) by Botswana investor Gulaam Abdoola, was officially opened in Tanzania's biggest city, Dar-es-Salaam recently. The project, named Mlimani City, is one of the major property investments in the coastal city.

The development, financed through the Botswana International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) includes a conference centre, a shopping complex, office park, hotel and residential properties. The first phase of the development features a shopping complex housing retailers such as Game and Shoprite chain stores and fast food restaurants.

When launching the phase, President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, applauded the interest expressed by Batswana investors through the project. He expressed hope that more Batswana investors will come and invest in the country.
