THE JSE bounced back into the black recently, breaking a fiveday losing streak as the futuresrelated selling that had been dragging the bourse down abated.

Better than expected US retail sales data boosted world markets, which in turn, added impetus to the JSE's ascent.

The all share index ended 0,66% stronger, industrials climbed 0,97%, while the financial and banks indices firmed 1,09% and 1,77% respectively.

Resources climbed 0,16% and the gold mining index gained 0,24%, but the platinum mining index lost 0,63%. On the all share index, 90 shares were up, 47 were down and 26 were unchanged. There were 34 advancers on the top 40 index and only six decliners, while one counter closed flat.
