LISTED COMPANIES ANNOUNCE BOUNTIFUL DIVIDENDS IN UGANDA

SEVERAL companies listed on the Uganda Security Exchange have announced large dividends for their shareholders with the Bank of Baroda taking the lead with a dividend of Shs70 per share.

A report from the USE said that the Bank of Baroda would pay dividends on August 1st. to shareholders who are on the register at the close of business on June 28. Earlier, Stanbic Bank Uganda had recommended a final dividend of Shs6.06 per share to all its shareholders on the register.

However, Uganda Clays Ltd and British American Tobacco announced their final results but no dividend was recommended. The All Share Index at the close of trading was 869.01, down from 875.85 in the previous trading and down from 904.87 a month ago.
