The Social Enterprise Coalition announce Enterprising Solutions Awards 2007
THE AWARDS, run by the Social Enterprise Coalition on behalf of the Office of the Third Sector, RBS and NatWest in association with the DTI, DfES, Capacity Builders and The Observer, are seeking applications from established social enterprises that are original and dynamic.
Social enterprises are businesses trading with a social purpose, and according to Gordon Brown they are the "new frontier of British business". They could work in any trade sector, be any size or have any legal structure.
This year's awards were launched at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant in London, one of the UK's most famous social enterprises. This year the overall winner will receive a cash prize of £10,000 and a year's free membership to the Coalition.
