New Government Simplification Plans must deliver results, says FSB

The Federation of Small Businesses has reacted with cautious optimism to the Government’s announcement of simplification plans across all Departments. The Plans were revealed by the Better Regulation Executive – a division of the Cabinet Office.

The FSB welcomed the BRE’s initiative to address red tape burdens on business across Whitehall . Small businesses have long maintained that better regulation has to be examined from an economic point of view. The sooner the Government cuts red tape and lowers the burden of regulation on business the freer firms are to grow, create more jobs and generate more money.

John Walker, FSB National Policy Chairman, said: “We are pleased to see these moves by Whitehall to reduce the burdens on business. If this model works then for the first time we will have a system where it will be possible to measure whether the burdens on business are falling or not”.
