Women take the lead in entrepreneurial endeavours
Statistics from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor show that women are more likely to pursue opportunities and introduce completely new enterprises to consumers.
However, around 150,000 more businesses are set up by men every year, men still dominate the boardroom and a gender pay gap of 14.4% remains. Encouraging female entrepreneurship in young people will help UK enterprise diversify and boost competition.
The first ever Women’s Enterprise Day, to be held on Wednesday 16 November, aims to help by promoting enterprise to young women and excite female entrepreneurship. Taking place at events across the country, leading business women will be running workshops, helping young women to refine their business savvy and incite a powerful confidence in them.
This is a chance for women to take action, to turn the tables and take the lead. So if you want to find out what you can do or discover what’s happening near you, contact Enterprise Insight.
