ANGOLA WINS AFRICA PRIZE ON ICT

ANGOLA HAS won the first category prize of the Technology In Government in Africa (TIGA) awards on information and communication technologies with the project "Government's Portal", in the category of better public services to citizens and communities through the ICTs.
According to a CNTI's press officer, Luisa dos Santos, the announcement of the prize happened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the fringes of a forum on statistics, in which Angola was represented with a delegation from the mentioned institution, led by the co-ordinator of the project, Elsa
Caposso. |
The prize was handed to Elsa Caposso, by the executive secretary-general of the UN Economic Commission For Africa, Abdoulie Janneh, in the presence of the secretary- general of the Angolan Embassy in Ethiopia, Nelson Cosmo.
This recently instituted prize also included the category of best health service through the ICTs, best education service to citizens through the ICTs and the fourth category is best economic and financial service.
