SMEs offered year’s free online HR department by People First

SMALL and medium-sized businesses struggling with human resources issues are being offered a year’s free subscription to an online HR department. People First has been given funding from the European Social Fund to offer a year’s free membership for 5,000 small and medium-sized businesses in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries.

The Human Resources Business Advisor service was developed with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry. The package is web-based and provides information and guidance on human resources and employment issues, including template HR documents and forms, answers to common questions and tips on how to remain legally compliant. Businesses that sign up will also receive regular updates and alerts on any changes in legislation that may affect them.

“We understand that for the majority of small to medium businesses, the cost of HR overheads is not always economically viable,” said Aldona Limani, a spokesperson for People First. “However the expert advice that they provide can be very useful if and when problems arise.”

To qualify for the free service your business must have no more than 250 employees and be within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries.
