SIGN A PETITION FOR MARIE-THERESE N'LANDU
|

|
Martin Luther King once said "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". It is with that in mind, that we in Harrow are asking for justice for Marie-Thérèse N'Landu.
A human rights Lawyer, mother of 4, whose husband Noel Mbala, a British citizen, lives in the UK, Ms N'Landu is the leader of Congo Pax, a party committed to peace in the Congo. |
Soon after the presidential election results were announced in November, Marie-Thérèse was retained by former Vice President Bemba, the runner up, to contest various irregularities in court. A number of her colleagues, including a pastor were arrested. During a lunch recess, on or about the 21st of November, when she was appearing before the courts, Marie-Thérèse went to the military detention centre to find out what had happened to her colleagues. She was arrested and after a delay during which no-one knew what her alleged crimes were, she was charged with 'terrorism' and put on trial before a militiray tribunal even though she is civilian. Her health has deteriorated in prison. In January, 3 prosecution witnesses admitted being paid to incriminate Marie-Thérèse! Rather than free her, the military panel has taken to not appearing when the case comes up!
All Nations Baptist Church in South London, where her husband Noel worships, held an all night vigil on Friday 2nd March. Stanmore Baptist Church held a prayer vigil at Harrow Civic Centre on the same night. We have a letter for our 2 MPs (Tony McNulty, Harrow East and Gareth Thomas, Harrow West) asking them to support the Early Day Motion and do all they can to see that justice is done. We are currently collecting signatures and will send the letter at the end of the week. Email your petition to
