WITH his brilliant new project, Uganda’s jazz artist Kaz Kasozi is set to tour the United Kingdom. The African jazz pianist who titled his new album ‘Jazzmoss’ is teaming up with some of the top names in British jazz to perform fresh original exciting compositions.

The album, which featured Kaz Kasozi on piano, Louisa Le Marchand on vocals Art Theman saxophones, Henry Lowther trumpet and flugel horn, Trevor Thomkins drums and Liran Donin on bass, Gill Swan backing vocals, was released on the 2nd of June but would be officially launched in the first show of the tour scheduled for the 4th of July at ST Giles Centre, Camberwell, Southeast London.
Jazzmoss has been described as a lyrical jazz album with a light, melodic and warm summer feel. It offers some poetic lyrics, new haunting jazz melodies, raunchy solos, spine tingling trumpet, some dynamic and melodic drumming, inspiring piano, a rumbling bass and a singing across the landscape carried by the true jazz songbird Louisa.
Other tour dates include July 13 at The Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading, July 30 at Bar Citrus in Bedford, August 28 at St James Wine Vaults in Bath and August 30 at the Jazz in the City Festival in East Sussex. The group will continue the tour on the 13th of September with a performance at the St Ives Festival in Cornwall.
On the Sunday the 28th of September they would be performing at the White Swan Hotel in Stratford upon Avon whilst October 10 the Jazzmoss group would be staged at the Star Anise Arts Café in Stroud. They’ve got more tour dates in London which are not yet confirmed. |
