An exclusive concert with the 2006 MOBO nominees for the Best African Act category

A special musical meet of Africa’s leading acts, The Rebirth was an appreciation concert gratifying the efforts of African singers who have proved their worth and achieved a place in the continent’s artists top list. These leading acts are the nominees in the Best African Act category at the music of black origin awards (The MOBO) 2006.
Organised by A.U.M.G LIVE, the Rebirth concert featured nominees Lebo of South Africa, Jose Chameleon of Uganda, P Square of Nigeria, Tony Tetuila of Nigeria and the winner of the award Batman Samini of Ghana.
The event, which was hosted two days after the awards (Friday 22nd of September) at Elephant and Castle’s Coronet, also featured big names such as Nigeria’s 2Face Idibia of ‘African Queen’ fame and Senegal’s hiphop lord Akon. Supporting acts included brilliant UK trio ‘Fundamental 03’, solo sweet voice Kay-B, high-pitch soaring Amanze, Nigeria’s Afrohiphop kid Komo and acapella group D’accord.
