THE SECOND EDITION of Saul Sounds Joluv Arts organised Miss SeneGambia UK was a classy pageant rated in today's leading standards.

Held on the 24th of February 2007 at the prestigious East London's venue Troxy, the pageant featured eight contestants.

The contestants who were on exhibition to show the natural and excellent looks of people of from Senegaland Gambia descent, contestants was aimed at deepening the bond holding the two countries together.

Through parts which included the traditional attire, the swim suit, casual wear and interview cum manifesto, the top three were chosen. 23- year-old Salaam Foster won the Second Runner-Up position whilst 18-year-old Djinda Kane grabbed the First Runner-Up.

The crown for the Miss SeneGambia UK 2007 went onto the head of 19-year-old Sally Yolande.

The entertainment on the night was an unexpected mixed thrill. Stand comedian Sa Neex cracked jaws with his impromptu but suitable jokes, Gambia's hiphop-mbalax quartet Maslabi broke their hiatus, Kora king Jaliba Kuyateh made a surprise appearance, and comperes Ibrahima Jawo and Nabou Faal mastered the event perfectly.

Saul Sounds Joluv Arts will soon be moving a step further as the promotion outfit would be host Miss SeneGambia Europe in Summer. "I think the sophomore edition of Miss SeneGambia UK is empowering enough to have us build the confidence of hosting a bigger beauty pageant," says Saul Sowe, executive director of Saul Sounds Joluv Arts.

"Miss SeneGambia Europe would be hosted in London during the summer and we anticipate to have beauty queens or selected pageants of SeneGambian descent resident in various countries of Europe as contestants."
