Four Kornerz Win UMA Award!

The core band is made up of four brothers Deji (24), TJ (22), Vidal (20) and Daniel (18) who started out as musicians and quickly combined that with their natural singing ability.

To date they have had significant appearances alongside many major artists such as Omar, Jocelyn Brown, London Community Gospel Choir, Karen Clark Sheard, Shola Ama, Trin-i-tee 5:7, The Tribe, Blush UK, Paris (BBC Fame Academy), Adlan Cruz, Siani, The Band With No Name and Christafari to name but a few.

Since they appeared on the Gospel Music industry scene and their release of their debut single “Clap Clap” (in April 2004 on UB1 Music) they have had positive feedback as well as rave reviews from top music publications such as Blues & Soul, Touch, I-DJ, Cross Rhythms, Live Listings and DJ Mag who gave the single five stars and great feedback “one of the most incisive and irresistible soul/r&bers around”.

Their single also went on to receive Record of the Week at both Choice FM and BBC 1Xtra and their soulful house remix gained top five positions on various international house charts including Faize and TMP.

Their success within the UK music industry has already seen them pick up countless awards, one of which included ‘Best Group Newcomer’ at the 2004 Gospel Entertainment Music (GEM) Awards televised by the BBC, which was their very first award. In the same year the band were invited by BBC Radio London to sing Christmas Carols live, acoustic and unplugged in December 2004, other highlights of the year included them participating in the recording remake of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” for “Hands Across The Sea” in aid of the victims of the hurricane- struck Caribbean areas.

At the heart of Four Kornerz is the motivation to create a positive influence through their music and lifestyle. This has resulted in them supporting various charity initiatives such as Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Africans Unite Against Child Abuse, Soul in the City, African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and African Children’s Association to name but a few.

With their strong family upbringing and firm Church foundation, all this has set Four-Kornerz poised to take their exciting inspirational flow to the four corners of the world and see them become nothing short of an independent label success story.
