Hiplife Festival

The recent trend of Ghana’s own contemporary music called ‘hiplife’ is amazingly awesome.

You just can’t be an alien whilst the sound bounces on. The urge to groove along comes like a thunder and sweeps one into the deep groove. Aptly promoted hiplife festival held on Saturday September 3, 2006 at Stratford Rex was rather a step further in the revelation of Ghanaian music industry’s creativity and artistry. Alordia Promotions collaborated with a couple of other Ghanaian UK based showbiz icons to present a selection of Ghana’s loudest names in the hiplife genre.

The artists line-up included Wutah, Kwabena Kwabena, Madfish, Lady Sledge, Ntatia, Nana Wusu, Kings Eyez, Nkasei, Praye and lots more.

Virtually all the fifteen acts on bill were flown in from Ghana. Bola Ray and Nana Asamoah, the duo that compered the event, opened the stage with a stylish and interesting intro. Distinctive performances followed relentlessly. Each act delivered a distinguished kind of thrill; leaving the entire audience to swim through a well-stretched fun.
