VICTOR RICHARDS trained at the Sandfield Centre, Nottingham, where he gained a Higher Diploma in Performing Arts in 1996. Since then his acting skills have been shown on several TV channels including the BBC for East Enders and Casualty, Channel 4 in Ama and The Bath and The Chief for Anglia Television.
Last year Victor won the second prize at the poetry slam at the Canal House, Nottingham.
He was highly praised for his expressive deep voice and his originality by both audiences and judges. Audiences from all over the country have seen him in action onstage too - name a big town or city and it's likely that someone there will have seen his plays Streets Paved With Gold, Return To The Caribbean or Children Of The First Generation.
For those who havn't there's now a new chance to see Streets Paved With Gold, a show that explores recent history from the 1950's, weaving together a thrilling, informative picture of the collective experiences of Black British Citizens.
Between 1948 and 1964 thousands of people left their Caribbean homelands to come to England, having been pushed out by unfortunate economic circumstances, and encouraged by advertisements for jobs in Britain placed by London Transport and the
N.H.S.
These people left their homes and travelled to the unknown in search of a brighter future for themselves and their children. |
