The £3 million musical will feature a cast of 35, led by Michelle Collins as nightclub owner ‘Ma Baker’, Harvey as ‘Shake’, the head of the SubSonic Kru, and Javine as ‘Asia Blue’, the lead singer in Ma Baker’s Nightclub. The lead cast also features Melanie La Barrie as ‘Pearl’, Camilla Beeput as ‘Rose’ and Dwayne Wint as ‘Sunny’. Other cast includes Hope Augustus, Donovan F Blackwood, Maxine Bowers, Jordan Darrell, Davie Fairbanks, Richard ‘Lianhart’ Francis, Duane O’ Garro, Adrian Gas, Alani Gibbon, Simon Harvey, Yasmin Kadi, Helen Kurup, Jay McKay, Michael Moulton, Sarah Moyle, Ricky Norwood, Page, Darvina Plante, Amber Rimell, Ezra Russell, Kirisa Samuel, Marc Small, Emmanuel Sonubi, Maria Swainson, Elliot Treend, Dennis Victory, Larrington Walker, Shelley Williams and Jacqui Zvimba.
Set in multicultural London, to the music of Boney M (and other Frank Farian artists including Milli Vanilli, Eruption, La Bouche and No Mercy), DADDY COOL is a new and exciting musical including classics such as Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl In The Ring, Ma Baker, Girl You Know It’s True, Where Do You Go, One Way Ticket, Mary’s Boychild and Daddy Cool. Many of the numbers, originally written in the 70s and 80s, have been re-interpreted with contemporary musical influences whilst still retaining the elements that made the songs such huge hits. Boney M fans will not be disappointed!

With over 800 million sales of Boney M albums around the world, including 20 Number One hits, the group was a phenomenon and their music has reached far and wide during the past 30 years.
DADDY COOL tells the story of ‘Sunny’, a young man who lives for his music. Caught up in local rivalry between East and West London crews, he meets and falls in love with ‘Rose’, daughter of East End’s notorious club owner ‘Ma Baker’. Echoing Romeo and Juliet, the lovers’ relationship fuels the hostility between the two gangs, leaving their families to face up to past secrets and forcing them to confront their future.

DADDY COOL is directed by American-born Andy Goldberg Prejudice) is Creative Associate. Choreography is by Sean Cheesman (double MTV award-winner and choreographer for Prince, Whitney Houston, Michael & Janet Jackson and Britney Spears) and Musical Staging by Lizzi Gee (Snoopy, Bat Boy). Lighting design is by Rob Halliday (My Fair Lady (UK Tour), Russian Romance, The Merry Wives of Windsor).In 1975 Boney M was created and produced by Frank Farian, who put together a band fronted by four dancer/singers. The band had their first hit single with Daddy Cool, and went on to have 38 top 10 hits between 1975 and 1988.
This included 15 number ones in Germany and 22 top tens in England, with 5 number ones. Boney M became the first Western group to perform in the Communist Soviet Union when they played a set to 2700 people in Red Square. In 1985 Boney M finally broke up after 10 years, but their music was back in 1992, with the release of the Boney M Megamix. The song made the Top 5 in the British charts. Three Boney M singles now grace the Top 10 all-time bestseller list in the UK – Mary’s Boy Child, Rivers of Babylon and Brown Girl In the Ring. The Musical is produced by Robert Mackintosh and Frank Farian.
