World tourism in 2006 is growing in a third consecutive year, which is providing a sound basis for further growth in the sector in 2007, a new report reveals. The numbers yesterday were released by the Madrid-based the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), in its thrice-annual UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. The UN agency noted a world-wide increase by 4.5 percent in international tourists during the first eight months of this year, compared to the same period last year.
