Happiness in Ghana than in Britain

Ghana is the tenth happiest place on earth, Malta is the happiest, while Zimbabwe and Ukraine seem to be the most unhappy, according to an annual World Database of Happiness complied by Rotterdam Erasmus University Prof. Ruut Veenhoven and published last week.
Sixty-three percent of Ghanaians said they are happy. Of all the African countries, Ghana was the only one in top ten countries with happiest people database.

56-year-old British
Sex Tourist jailed

A "dangerous and devious" sex tourist has been jailed for a "minimum" of six years after preying on deprived children in Africa.
Father-of-two Alexander Kilpatrick, who regarded himself as "out of control", repeatedly used the extensive "goodwill" built up by his son's voluntary work among the poor to conceal his "predatory" behaviour. The 56-year-old also used his mobile home to tour England looking for other vulnerable youngsters.

Liberia denies $30m is 'missing'

Liberia's interim government has challenged a United Nations report alleging that millions of dollars is unaccounted for by its administration.
Information Minister C William Allen admitted some discrepancies but said most of the $30m was being transferred between departments.
He said the government was preparing a full response to the allegations.

Shafi Choudhury selected as
Conservative Mayoral Candidate for Newham

Conservatives in Newham have selected local campaigner Shafi Choudhury as their candidate for Mayor of Newham. Mr Choudhury, 34, was selected unopposed by all three constituency associations in Newham, and goes head to head with the Labour candidate on 4th May. Shafi has previously stood for election to Newham Council, and was more recently GLA candidate for City & East onstituency slashing the Labour majority and in coming second, pushed Respect into third place.

Howard-Taylor divorces Charles Taylor

Jewel Howard-Taylor, the official wife of notorious former Liberian leader Charles Taylor, has had her application for divorce granted, according to court documents obtained by IRIN.A Liberian Circuit Court document revealed Howard-Taylor, the former first lady who was elected as senator in the recent parliamentary elections, had cited UN sanctions and her husband's limitless exile in Nigeria as reasons for the divorce.
