The Question is “What?”
"Something needs to be done. Something needs to be done!" The Question is "What?"
I am sick to death of hearing these words. The misrepresentation, together with the disenfranchisement of our youth is the obvious answer.
Child Poverty within the system is evident. Our Prime Minister must accept the blame for the breakdown and almost irretrievable catastrophe with regard to the education system. The only way to solve gun and knife crime would be to go back to basics. i.e., reading, writing and arithmetic. Until our children can master these basic functions of life their future is worth nothing.
The ever prominent sentence, "Something needs to be done" is dated. We must have an All-Party consensus on Gun and Knife Crime.
Politicians must lobby the Prime Minister and his Cabinet into creating a system that will enhance the lives of our youngsters.
Many are adolescent and have reached as far as they can possibly go, as things stand at the present moment.
The systematic breakdown within the family unit is apparent. We must encourage unity and understanding, particularly between cultures.
Together we can change things. They, the Government, must set the platform. From there, people can help themselves.
At this present moment there is no incentive for youngsters, or adults, to break slap-dash habits of a decade or so.
Some would say, "People need to help themselves before they can be helped." In an ideal world, such a statement would be true.
Successive Governments have not taken seriously the plight of our teenagers over the years. They have been exploited, to be extent that they, the children, have become nocturnal and turned on one another. Hence the current spate of crime and murders is indicative of this.
If we are to wipe out this evil then collectively Government must lead the way.
However, the Government's response on this matter is deafening by its silence.
This is why I have chosen to enter the race to become the next Mayor of London.
Ken Livingstone holds the purse strings on the Police in London - but what is he doing? How Mr. Livingstone can continue to support Chief Commissioner Sir Ian Blair in the catastrophic blunder caused over the John Charles De Menezes shooting, I will never know. Sir Iain can never again be trusted to take charge of such important operations.
Boris Johnson cannot even make up his mind as to what he would like to do! And more recently Brian Paddick has entered the race. Have you noticed, these three men have one thing in common.
They have no means of verbal communication or interaction with the general public, particularly our youths. They can only speak within their own circles.
A word of caution gentlemen, to bring about peace you must be able to communicate in this present tense.
Politicians are not interested in the wellbeing of the people, only the wellbeing of their own pockets i.e., their position in life. They turn a blind eye while the suffering increases daily. Do they not realize how urgent the matter of our youths has become to the people of London?
It is beyond our current leaders to acknowledge just how frightened insecure and concerned many parents have become recently.
If I were to become London's next Mayor, I would take decisive action immediately.
I have some answers. I have some solutions. I will put them into operation without delay should I take office as the next Mayor of London in May 2008.
I shall encourage youth development in music, drama, sports and IT.
I shall be ruthless on Gun and Knife Crime.
Gun and knife Crime will be my priority.
