The Process
Let’s Talk with Nachi Aguboshim

(Nachi, like most African Children born in the diaspora is trying to redefine himself.
He writes with passion and an open mind. Nachi is an intern at the youth desk of African Echo media group.)

As the hands of time gradually move on, so eventually does our journey in this struggle we call life. As we walk towards our destination, whatever that may be we often find that our minds and also our direction can sometimes take on a different course.

These changes, whether they be good or bad much like the stages that we will in due course embark on, are all part of a process, when I refer to a 'process' I merely talk about the path that you take as an individual, the situations that you are faced with and the idea that whatever factors happen within your life, they are merely elements of your own process.

Life is a long journey and with that said there will be many objectives that you will encounter over its course. As the road gets rough it is easy to get dishearten or even distracted by the way your path changes, especially if it isn't according to your own expectations or even by the positive situations that people around you are embarking on, and this can make things hard as you try to move forward and make sense of your journey and the route that you are taking.

When you come to an awkward stage in your life, realise that you are at this point for a reason however depending on this stage may be hard to accept in your current position.

In some cases we as people don't have the initial tools to deal with these, at times overwhelming situations that we progress into, this could be down to a number of things such as a lack of financial, social, physical or even mental capacities.

On a personal note I found myself in a stage in my own process and it has taken time for myself to become aware that I need to develop an understanding of myself and it is at this point that I will truly have the tools that I need to aspire to be all that I can be.

A problem that many people, including myself go through is that we set ourselves targets, goals, aims call them what you will but we fail to set ourselves a realistic timeline in which to achieve these ambitions. Plus we also fail to realise that as important as these targets are, the knowledge that you have gathered to reach them isn't anywhere near close enough for us to progress in our process. We still haven't taken the time to comprehend our character or the effort that it will take to grow.

Once we have done that and we have truly understood ourselves and the true importance of our journeys and eventually enhanced our knowledge then we can move on in our process, to then complete the path that we are taking.

Life is a process and within this process mistakes and opportunities, on various occasions will arise the idea is to take the positive from the negative and on some level acknowledge that all the adversities that you encounter are part of your own process. By acknowledging and understanding you can take the steps you need to full-fill your process and complete your path.

'Don't be dishearten by the ever enduring aspect of work, it is just part of a process, your at a stage in your life for a reason, it's up to how you will progress'.
